It is said to be the hardest stage ever – 3.000m of vertical climbing in two big ascents on a distance of 38km in a very alpine Terrain with snow on the top. To be honest it was the first time that I felt a little better in this Transalpine Run – luckily 🙂 We could almost run all the time with the (current! ;-)) leaders and in the end Tofol and me tried to escape but our friends Dimitris and Cameron are more fast on the slight 2km uphill to the finish (roadrunners!) – so 2nd just 22sec behind!
Running down the very technical downhill to Ischgl in a mix of loose rocks and deep mud together with the young Spanish Team and our friends something very strange happened. Turning around the corner in a forest part all of us started to laugh – there was a “MOUNTAIN FLITZER”. An old guy walked uphill comletely naked just wearing his hiking boots – Hahaha!
Tomorrow stay in Switzerland and run to Scuol wher we will stay two days.
