IMG_5940When I was looking through the pics I realized how much had happened during the last year: a lot of adventures, pretty cool outdoor-activities, many throwbacks and disappointments, exciting journeys with old and new friends, brillant experiences and negative stuff. Behind every single picture there is a unique story and so it was not easy to choose only one for each month…

1

JANUARY – It’s so energetic and impressive to see the sun rising over the horizon. Day by day, month by month and it’s that normal that we do not even think about it anymore…

2FEBRUARY – Crazy things happened with the “Das unglaubliche Dötzi-Sykrace”, a pretty steep 420m+ ascent up to a little peak in Bad Reichenhall. So crazy that the Bavarian TV reported about the local trailrunning szene and thier wired records…

3MARCH – Skitouring, Freetouring, Skimountaineering. Finally there it’s enough snow to do some of the classic skiroutes in the Berchtesgadener Land like “Hundstodreibn” or “Grosse Reibn”. Powderalarm!

4APRIL – Temperatures are getting warmer, trails are almost snow-free and during noontime short/short is possible. I love springtime  đź™‚

5MAY – Unfortunately I couldn’t get rid of my plantar fascies injury, had to cancel a lot of trailraces and running events and it was very difficult for me to accept that enforced break. But I invested in a crossbike and did a lot of “alternative training”, quite a lot…

6JUNE – It’s just a few weeks to go until the 4-Trails (4-day-stage-race) start to loop half way around the national park Berchtesgadener Land. Very happy that Stephan R. Gripmaster and me are the course designers and over 400 runners are going to follow our route from Berchtesgaden to Maria Alm. Therefore our training was not only to get in shape but it was really, really funny too.

7JULY – #OstFlitzSpitzTour was the project of Michi Wohlleben and Alpinschule Augsburg and I was luck to get invitied to that epic journey. The connection of the two most iconic alpine routes in Germany, Watzmann Ostwand and Zugspitz Jubiläumsgrat, via a 200km bikeride leads us into a pretty long day with more than 7.500m+

8AUGUST – Some days of rest before Tromso Skyrace in Norway didn’t stop us to explore the amazing landscape in the North. Stunning Fjords and strange midnightsun.

9SEPTEMBER – Taking part at my 5th edition of the Transalpine Run but the first time not racing. But great to see so many well-known faces, cheering, taking pictures and absorbing the great family-like atmosphere.

10OCTOBER – Days are slowly getting shorter, autumn is calling and it’s time to start my studies again. I love my home Marzoll…

11NOVEMBER – Enjoying the last warm days of the year together with the #trailsofawesomeness funny trailrunning-godfather Dr. Gripmasterson in the home mountains – nothing else needed!

12DECEMBER – This non-winter has also it’s advantages: Pretty cool ridge-traverse and perfect conditions at “Hocheisumrahmung” in the Berchtesgadener Alps.

13So, this was my 2015 and I don’t know what will happen in 2016, we will see…
The only thing I can tell you: Keep moving outdoors, be greatful and enjoy every day you are healthy.
Happy New Year
